The North Sea can be a very dangerous place to be if the conditions are not right.  The harbour mouth at Portsoy can be choppy on a bad day.

Portsoy Skiffettes receive a harbour safety briefing and basic training on safe use of the equipment.  Some members of the Portsoy Skiffettes are also trained in health and safety, first aid and use of radios and those with this specific training must be available during training sessions.  However, we only row in suitable conditions to ensure maximum safety.

Equipment is provided by the Club. The Skiff is insured and public liability is also covered by the Club, paid through the collation of an annual membership.
